Just rode about 50 miles around a few twisties and on/off ramps close to me. A few observations of mine about the SMC R: Sounds like a KTM. I always thought the sound was unique to the 1290 75* angle, but nope. Sounds like a KTM from the seat. Can't wait to put a slip on to save weight and braaap around. The brakes are phenomenal.
333 is wet weight for the Ducati without fuel. Ducati includes oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid. So add maybe 4-5 lbs to the weight of the SMC R for apples to apples comparison. Ktm weight is Dry= you have to add Oil+coolant+ 90% of fuel = oil 1,5 Lt = 1,150 kg + 1,7 kg coolant + 10 kg of fuel total to add = 13,2 kg = 29 lbs. KTM 341 lbs, Ducati 333.The 690 SMC R comes equipped with a 693cc single-cylinder engine, producing 74 hp and about 54 lb-ft of torque at peak. Surely it doesnβt need to be said that for a bike weighing in at a whopping 324 lbs (Wet), those power numbers are more than enough to have some fun.
