It seems the EGR valve on the 1.8 is part of the intake manifold so a much bigger job than the EGR valve clean/replacement on the 1.6. Seems a rather daft design to be honest but as I have never had a 1.8 I have never done one, quite expensive if it needs replacing, personally I would see about getting it cleaned and if it's faulty see about getting it mapped out.

I have tried dismounting and cleaning the valve, but the light comes back on after a while. I don't know what to do next, and i was wondering if changing101. Name: James. Ford Model: MK7 1.6 TDCI Titanium 5 door. Ford Year: 2009. UK/Ireland Location: Lancashire. Posted April 21, 2013. Does anybody have a good guide to removing the egr valve. I've looked around on the Internet and can't find one. Even if its just a photo of it and the bolts that hold it on. EGR valve duty (%) Focus = 19.2 EGR valve duty (%) Volvo = 76 EGR valve position (%) Focus = 0 EGR valve position (%) Volvo = 100 Fuel rail pressure (psi) Focus = 3778 Fuel rail pressure (psi) Volvo = 4281 Everything else looks in order. The car won't accelerate properly and based on the above I'm now sure I should start with the APP position.
ayvo. so I've been looking at blanking/deleting the egr on my fiesta mk7 2009 1.6 tdci (non dpf 16 valve engine) instead of replacing it since its giving issues (keeps throwing a "egr stuck open code").. would the best way of doing this be putting a metal blanking plate between the egr (apparently this doesn't throw up an EML) and the engine or
